Educate Yourself Before Buying a New Domain Name and Web Hosting Plan

I have been developing websites for 6 years and posting articles on blogs for less than a year now. One critical factor in a site’s success is the reliability of the servers of its web host. My sites were deranked for keywords I have ranked high for many months because of a server error. One time my serer was down for a few minutes but those few minutes were the same moments in time when the Google and Yahoo bots came to crawl my sites.

I just found out from Google webmaster that my site was down when their bots came to crawl my sites and showed me more than 50 errors in one site alone. Well, call it wrong timing. In my overall assessment, it would be better for me to buy a new web hosting plan + domain now because my present web hosting service hosts 6 domains (sites) and 3 forums. Sometimes I observe a slight slowing down of loading when traffic is high in some of the sites I author. To reduce the load on my web host, I better buy a new one to host my new websites and blogs.

Having said that, you should educate yourself first before buying a domain + web hosting plan. I have no problems with my web host since I purchased it, it’s just that the downtime came at a very wrong time. Downtimes are normal in any web host. That you should expect. hmmm… good read. i am presently considering getting another domain so this is rather timely. my current server has been doing a fine job so i might just stick with these guys. have a nice day!

If you’re happy with your web host, it’s really a wise move to stick with it. In my case, I’ll do the same. I just need another web hosting plan because my server is sometimes overladed and my sites don’t load properly because of this. By the way, my web host is HostMonster

i got a 21-day downtime with my webhost. good thing it came back alive on time for the page rank update.

i’m still sticking with them.

oh that’s too bad. a 21-day downtime is too much. I haven’t experienced anything like that with Hostmonster. my downtimes are usually between 5-10 minutes only and they seldom happen.
