This is in response to my friend query “How do I put images in my Wordpress blog post that will open in a new window?” I’ve long wanted to answer this question but I’ve been busy. The steps are simple. For those who know this already, this article will defintely be of no importance. For those who don’t, please read on and I hope you will learn something.
First, insert the image/s you want using the Add an Image button in your TinyMCE (Write Post page). Upload the image file of your choice. After giving the image some Title, Caption, Description (all optional if you still have time), in the Link URL, select Post URL. This option will change the Link URL of your image. It will be in the form http://www.yourdomain.com/?attachment_id=somenumber. This Link URL will open the image in a New Window. You can either place thumbnails, medium sizes or full sizes of your images in your blog posts. The image size does not actually matter here.
To see a sample, click on the sample image below where the medium size was chosen. You can select Thumbnail of the image if you wish to experiment on the outcome.

Naku, fren, salamat sa pag-post mo nito. Pero bago sa kin yang attachment_id, pano ba yan? Ang naka-default na url kasi palagi sa kin yung url ng image sa uploads folder.

Mhy,
Ayos lang yun. The attachment_id is auto-generated. So no problem about it. Try mo, makikita mo yung result and you’ll certainly be pleased.
