Some Tips to Get More Review Jobs and Make More Money Online

After blogging for almost a year and having been involved in the blog advertising business for 3 months (yes, I have been active in blog advertising for 3 months only), there are some things I have realized in paid blogging.

First, making money online is not easy. Many new bloggers expect that making money online is easy because of the success stories of their new-found affiliations with other bloggers who allegedly have made serious cash in blogging for a couple of months. While some are true, most of the stories out there are nothing but publicity stunts or plain and simple crap.

In paid blogging, in order to win the hearts of advertisers, you’ll need to have the following:

• Google Pagerank
• Good Alexa Rank
• A lot of backlinks in Google, Yahoo and other search engines

We could add to this the frequency of posting and reader comments. Some advertisers look into these things sometimes. Hence, before your site becomes attractive to advertisers, try to strengthen their qualification. Exchange links with some blogggers. Preferably, exchange links with sites related to yours (based on tags and keywords) because they will be more beneficial. Also, interat with your readers and connect with them in a semi-personal way. Your connection with your readers will go a long, long way.

Update your sites on a regular basis. If you can only post once a week, then that’s just fine but try to increase the amount of posts you publish. In my other sites, there were even times that I published 4-6 articles per day and I saw more benefits when I did that. First, the search engine robots will crawl your site’s pages, tags, categories and comments more frequently. If you are doing some SEO in your sites, it’s most likely that you know important it is for your articles to hit the search engine results immediately. However, I can recommend that posting articles just for the sake of updating your site may not always be good. Try to put some quality in your write-ups then maybe the number of subscribers of your blog will increase and more people will be enticed to come back to your site more frequently.

As to blog advertising networks, when placing bids in SponsoredReviews.com, buyblogreviews and other sites where you have to bid for an review opp, don’t make your bid too low. If your site, however is young and doesn’t qualify for a higher bid, then this could be the most effective strategy. But if your site has good standings, bid somewhere in the middle of the advertiser’s offer range.

In PPP, the system here is different. Pagerank quite shows its good use because many advertisers still require a good site PR. Alexa ranking doesn’t seem to contribute to your chances in getting review opps in this network. PPP’s sister company, SocialSpark requires sites to have a good RealRank. But even that is not a guarantee that you will get the opps in SS. Sometimes, the system there is a matter of chance. If you get lucky you can still get opps even if your site virtually receives no traffic. In Buyblogreviews, the system of bidding is quite similar to SR. However, I just can’t seem to get my rhythm in doing reviews with this network. Why? Up to this writing, I have only done 1 opp for this network. I’ve seen the same advertisers in BBR placing orders in other networks like PPP and SR. I am compelled to believe that many advertisers are “testing the waters” – trying to offer different amounts in different networks to see if they can get the most out of their advertising money. In my observation, they’re simply trying to determine the network where they can get their products and services reviewed by the better blogs at lower costs.

I will not include here Smorty because I think Smorty is dead. I think the network is on the brink of extinction. It’s been inactive for 2-3 months already and I’m not seeing any form of activity in the network except in the forums where you can find many nameless, faceless, and shameless spammers.
