I’m a Filipino and many Pinoys here in the Philippines dream of going to London to work or get some vacation. Of course, we do not have the same priorities. Those who want to go to London to work are eyeing on the “greener pasture” London has to offer. These are usually nurse and skilled workers. For those who are vacationing, well… these are the lucky ones who have the means to go to London or other cities of Europe to spend just a portion of their wealth.

Toyota Corolla GLXi is one of my top choices for a used car. Depending on the mileage of the car (or age in years based on model year, a standard in the Philippine market), Toyotas sell between Php150-250K. At the moment, I only have less than Php100K and I am saving a hell lot of money just to get my family a car in December. Yeah, that’s actually my schedule because I want to greet the new year (2009) by getting a new “toy”.

In my previous discussion about cars (family car actually), I was and still am confused whether to buy a new car or used car. In the Philippines, used cars are so many. I even know some people who are in the buy-and-sell business. However, what I really do not like about these used car agents is that they do not actually value friendship. When it comes to selling cars, they do not mind who buys, friend or not. Business is business, they say.

Detoxification is good. Everyday we detoxify our bodies by drinking beverages like coffee and natural fruit juices (which contain good amounts of antioxidants). Drinking water is also a good way to detoxify since under normal conditions, urination carries away toxins and other foreign bodies from our system.

Unemployment is a global problem. Even the richest countries suffer from this economic condition. There are only a few countries which do not consider unemployment as a problem. In fact, some countries like Canada even hire many workers from other countries like the Philippines, China and Malaysia because Canada is basically underpopulated and needs a lot of manpower to work in factories, offices, hospitals and other business establishments.

My two motor vehicles, an owner-type jeep and a motorbike broke down due to the rains in the past two months. Three typhoons hit our province and car owners really had the hardest times of their lives because many parts of a motor vehicle fail when soaked in water. In my case, my brakes failed and so for the past two days, I was changing brake fluids.

Let’s Talk About Money

Author: jps61974

Ok, let’s talk about money. In my last post, I talked about how to make money online using blog advertising networks. This time, let’s talk about the adequacy of money you and I make from blogging or our offline jobs. Are you making enough? I certainly do not. Honestly, my online income is not sufficient. It can’t even cover my expenditures on coffee at times. lol!

Drug Education for All

Author: jps61974

Drug education has become part of the Philippine curriculum since the late 80s. We were in high school when the subject was introduced. It was also the time the Philippine government recognized the need to educate the youth about the ill effects of using drugs.

The educational system was still doing great at that time because the incidence of drug addiction decreased for a while until it became a national concern in the mid-90s.

Life can be so difficult at times especially here in the Philippines where the rice and oil crises persist everyday.  Many Filipinos complain of price hike on almost about everything.  Every commodity increases in price but salaries remain the same.

In the United States, the economic situation is somewhat similar.  Recession is still very much alive in the United State.  Even the working class complain of things we Filipinos usually complain about - rise in home rental, insurance, oil  hike, tuition fee increase, etc.
